Literature Text

I was the fool,
I thought you loved me,
I was wrong.

Now I go day by day,
wondering....
Did you ever love me?

But it doesn't matter.
No, not anymore.
I'm on my own,
I have been since the moment you left.

On this building,
facing the stars,
facing the memories,
The past combines with the future.

One look left and there you are.
One look right and you're no more.
It's time to go. Forever.

I spread my wings,
I'm ready to fly.
I'm ready to leave.
I'm ready to move on.

I take a deep breath,
Fighting back the tears,
I blink. I look down below.

What's waiting for me?
Will anything change?
Will someone finally find me?
Will someone finally love me?

I don't known.
I don't think so.
But, I can't stay trapped in my own past,
in my own love for you.

I let the breath go.
I take a step to the edge.
I'm holding on to my last image of you.
Clinging to it, I hate facing reality.

One more step.
Your image disappears.
Forever to be forgotten.

I jump,
My wings flutter and I fall,
I soar to the earth, my wings spread wide

The past a distant blur,
The future uncertain.
But, I can do it without you.

It's my turn.
My time.
And, I'll take to the skies.

This is my life.
I'm heading to the future.
Steady and strong.
I will live on.

very nice, haven't heard to song, but these poems are always the best because they come from the bottom of ones soul.
